Develop a toolkit to effectively support crew, identify early warnings, and respond quickly to ensure resilience of personnel at sea.

This Mental Health and Wellbeing Workshop, delivered with the support of The Seafarers’ Charity, provides a dedicated opportunity to explore mental health challenges within the maritime sector and their direct impact on safety, performance and retention.

Moving beyond awareness‑raising alone, the workshop offers practical insight into the psychological, behavioural and environmental factors that affect wellbeing at sea and ashore. Through expert‑led sessions and scenario‑based, case‑driven discussions, participants will examine how stress, fatigue, isolation and workplace culture influence individual resilience, decision‑making and team dynamics.

As the maritime industry continues to operate under increasing pressure from long deployments, complex operations and changing workforce expectations, supporting mental health has never been more critical. This workshop highlights how early recognition, timely intervention and supportive leadership behaviours play a vital role in preventing mental health deterioration and improving safety outcomes.

Delivered face‑to‑face, the workshop creates space for open discussion, shared experience and peer learning in a confidential and respectful environment. The in‑person format enables deeper engagement with sensitive topics, fostering understanding and practical skills that cannot be achieved through remote delivery alone.

Designed for maritime professionals working in demanding and often isolated environments, the workshop equips delegates with practical, immediately applicable strategies to manage stress, support colleagues, and contribute to healthier, more psychologically safe workplaces.
