YCM Captain's Forum 2026
The Yacht Club de Monaco will host a new edition of its Captain's Forum, a key industry event bringing together captains, yacht owners, fleet managers, shipyards, engineers, industry leaders and international experts to discuss the energy solutions that will shape the future of shipping and superyachts.
Held under the theme "Future Energy Sources Onboard Ships and Yachts", the conference will provide an overview of currently available technologies while exploring the most promising solutions for accelerating the sector's energy transition.
The morning session will focus on operational technologies, emerging solutions and the challenges that lie ahead.
The Nautical Institute will contribute its international expertise through the participation of Nicolas Millot, who will open the discussions with an overview of international regulatory developments and the key environmental drivers currently accelerating the transition toward decarbonized propulsion systems. During the luncheon session, Chris O'Flaherty, the Nautical Institute's representative to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), will present the role of the Nautical Institute delegation within the IMO and explain how feedback from seafarers and shipmasters directly contributes to the development of future international regulations. He is a former Royal Navy Captain and former British Defence Attaché, he will also share his perspective on the major challenges that will shape the future of global shipping.
The session will be moderated by Camille Lopez of HyPlug, a recognized specialist in new maritime energy solutions, who will facilitate discussions and encourage dialogue between the various stakeholders across the industry.
Through this new edition of the Captain's Forum, the Yacht Club de Monaco reaffirms its commitment to fostering open, pragmatic and independent dialogue among all stakeholders, supporting the energy transition of both the maritime transport and superyacht sectors.
