The 25th Anniversary of Equasis
Last week, our Vice President Neil Dulling FNI, represented The Nautical Institute at the 25th Anniversary of Equasis, held at the Musée de la Marine in Paris.
Hosted by the French Directorate of Maritime Affairs (DG AMPA) and the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA), this event brought together global maritime leaders to reflect on a shared mission: promoting transparency, safety and quality in shipping.
With keynote remarks from Dr. Heike Deggim, Director of the Marine Environment Division at the IMO, the discussions held ranged from environmental performance to vessel standards and the human element. The event highlighted key principles that are directly aligned with our mission.
With over 25 million page views per year, 8% of which coming from seafarers, Equasis has grown into a trusted platform offering open, reliable data on ships and operators worldwide, supporting better decision-making and helping reduce substandard shipping. These goals align with our commitment to driving excellence, continuous professional development and safety across the maritime industry.
We celebrate Equasis on this milestone and support its efforts to modernise and meet the evolving needs of regulators and maritime professionals, at sea and ashore.
