We are pleased to share that we recently audited the State University of New York Maritime College (SUNY Maritime), confirming the accreditation of its Dynamic Positioning (DP) training centre.

It was great to see how SUNY Maritime, a public university, delivers top-tier DP training to its in-house cadets and opens its programmes to the public. We were impressed by the college’s enrollment of over 900 cadets, with approximately 245 graduating each year.

Our dedicated auditors, Capt. Qasim Masood, Head of Qualifications M&O, and Capt. Noel Leith visited the college’s training ship Empire State VII, verifying that SUNY Maritime College upholds the highest standards in training mariners to operate sophisticated automated systems.

The college is approved to deliver both The Nautical Institute’s DP Induction and DP Simulator courses.

The accreditation underscores our unwavering commitment to providing the maritime industry with the skills and knowledge to train and upskill the global seafaring workforce.
