South West England Branch AGM 2026
The South West England Branch of The Nautical Institute is pleased to host its 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday 21 May.
Once formal business has concluded, there will be a technical seminar co-hosted together with the local branches of RINA and IMarEST on the theme of 'Sailing under false colours'. Drawing on case examples, Paul Willerton FNI and Lt Cdr Charles Hattersley (Retd) MNI will examine the history of and contemporary practices in the registration and identification of ships, the existence of 'shadow fleets', current legal requirements and related and implications for both the ship owner and the seafarer.
The session will be followed by a lively Q&A.
For more details, and to register to join one or both of these events, please contact the Branch directly at swengland.branch@nautinst.org.
Please note the AGM is open to members of The Nautical Institute only.
We look forward to seeing you there!
