The Talk - The Island Trust was formed in 1973 by Dick Lloyd and 2 colleagues who wanted to address the inequalities in access to the benefits of sailing, determined that financial and social barriers to participation should be removed. As a registered charity The Island Trust provide life enhancing, residential and day sail activities for young people aged 12-19 years, with educational support needs, disabilities and those experiencing hardship and deprivation.
The Speaker - From the age of 14 Andy has always had a passion for sailing and was a dinghy sailing and windsurfing instructor at the age of 16. After a 30 year career in the Police, retiring from Devon and Cornwall Police in 2016, Andy set up his own drone business and admired the traditional wooden boats owned by The Island Trust filming them from the air at every opportunity.
