2025 BPA CONFERENCE RETURNS TO THE UK’s ‘ENERGY ESTUARY’

The British Ports Association (BPA) Conference will return to the Humber in October for the first time since 2013, when the annual event will be jointly hosted by Associated British Ports (ABP) and Grimsby Fish Dock Enterprises.

The two-day conference and exhibition will be held at the 4* Forest Pines Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa on the 15th -16th October, 2025. Details of the main conference programme are yet to be announced but the BPA anticipates welcoming more than 300 delegates and hosting over 35 exhibitors at the port and maritime industry showcase.

In addition to the conference and exhibition, delegates can join a lively social programme, including a pre-conference Welcome Reception (Tuesday 14th October) and the chance to ‘Party Underwater’ at The Deep, Hull’s award-winning aquarium attraction (Wednesday 15th October). Forest Pines Hotel will also be the venue for the 2025 BPA Awards & Gala Dinner on Thursday 16th October, which will bring the curtain down on this year’s event.

Richard Ballantyne OBE, chief executive of the British Ports Association said; “We are delighted that the BPA Conference will be returning to the Humber region this year. Celebrated as a key region for maritime activity and known as the UK’s energy estuary, the Humber is a hotbed for innovation, particularly in areas like offshore wind. The region also maintains a thriving shipbuilding and repair industry and makes a significant contribution to the UK economy through its strategic position for domestic and international shipping routes.

“The 2025 conference promises to be an invaluable experience for everyone involved in the UK ports and harbours sector. It is a key opportunity for our members and organisations from across government, academia and industry to get together and discuss the challenges and opportunities ahead at a crucial time for UK trade and industry.”
