Waves of Influence: Women Leading Maritime
The Seafarers’ Charity, in partnership with Sailors’ Children’s Society and supported by Trinity House, presents Waves of Influence: Women Leading Maritime—a celebratory lunch highlighting the impact of women across the maritime sector. Taking place in the elegant Banqueting Hall at Fishmongers’ Hall, the event brings together representatives from law firms, insurance companies, and City organisations to champion gender inclusion and leadership at sea and ashore.

Inspired by a long-standing tradition in Hull, where the Sailors’ Children’s Society has hosted a male-focused fundraising lunch for over 70 years, this event represents a meaningful step towards gender equity in maritime philanthropy. Now in its second year in Hull for women, the concept has been brought to London in partnership with The Seafarers’ Charity.

The programme includes a keynote address by Sarah Kenny OBE, CEO of BMT and one of the UK’s top female business leaders, and features special guest the Rt Hon Nusrat Ghani PC MP, Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons and former Maritime Minister. The event is hosted by broadcaster Jenni Falconer, and includes a raffle and auction led by BBC’s Caroline Hawley.
