Your opportunity to make your voice heard and to influence global maritime regulation

Reducing seafarer paperwork and bureaucracy is a topic frequently discussed among mariners. Since January 2024, the concept of a Maritime Single Window has strived to deliver just such a reduction.

A Maritime Single Window (MSW) is a single, centralized digital platform used to collect and exchange information between ships and public authorities when ships call at ports. By enabling information to be submitted electronically through a single-entry point, Maritime Single Windows streamline procedures relating to the arrival, stay and departure of ships and enhance the efficiency of maritime transport.

But does it work?  The International Maritime Organization is trying to find out.

Any seafarer, ship manager or other maritime professional with experience of a Maritime Single Window is encouraged to fill out the IMO survey here.
