NI attends IMPA Hamburg 2024

Our Head of Information and Publications Steven Gosling AFNI attended the IMPA Hamburg 2024 conference to hear all about sustainability and efficiency in the supply chain.

Keynote speaker at the event and author for the Nautical Institute Steven Jones AFNI, CEO of the Sustainable Shipping Initiative, encouraged everyone to wake up and smell the COPFTE. He called on shipping to focus on the impact its operations have and take urgent action on sustainability, looking at the following key areas:

  • Communities
  • Oceans
  • People
  • Finance
  • Transparency
  • Energy


The fascinating presentation set the scene for a lively debate and call to action for purchasing and procurement professionals to communicate and collaborate in more effective ways to achieve common sustainability goals.
