Meet our Younger Member Ambassador Prathit
Meet Prathit Singh Chandel (AMNIS, SIMarEST), a passionate young seafarer from India and one of The Nautical Institute’s Younger Member Ambassadors (YMA).
Prathit embarked on his seafaring journey in 2020. He has sailed on Oil/Chemical Tankers and Container vessels as a Deck Cadet, gaining invaluable hands-on experience. In 2024, he earned his BSc in Nautical Science from the Indian Maritime University and is currently pursuing his 2nd Mate Functions.
With a strong commitment to continuous learning, Prathit aspires to obtain his Master’s license as soon as possible. He plans to pursue an MBA in Shipping & Logistics and explore leadership and managerial roles in the maritime sector. His ultimate goal is to contribute to the industry by enhancing safety protocols and standards for more efficient maritime operations.
Inspired by the dynamic and challenging nature of a career at sea, Prathit is eager to encourage young seafarers to take an active role in shaping the future in the maritime industry.
As a proud member of The Nautical Institute, he values the platform it provides for professional growth, networking and staying up to date on industry development. He believes that The Nautical Institute community is filled with experienced maritime professionals who serve as a constant source of inspiration and knowledge.
