Feedback and Representation
The Nautical Institute, as a professional body represents its members’ views to the industry in many forums on an international and national basis covering a variety of topics.
Feedback from mariners is encouraged through the Institute’s journal Seaways, e-mail correspondence groups, web forums, conferences, committees and ship visits.
Individual members and the contribution of the Branch network are invaluable in allowing the Institute to provide the ‘voice of the mariner’ to industry groups.
This feedback is essential to influence regulation, design, and operational standards that are suitable and effective for the mariner and shipping industry. Due to the rapidly changing environment in shipping with new regulations and technology, feedback from mariners through the Institute provides a valuable contribution.
