Preparing for Success: RightShip Dry Bulk Carrier Inspections

Remove the uncertainty and enhance your knowledge and confidence with this comprehensive course on RightShip inspections.

This three-day intensive programme has been designed to familiarise industry personnel with the RightShip Inspection process and ship questionnaire (RISQ). The course aims to raise awareness of the different RightShip Inspection points, including the evaluation of a ship's condition, quality and effectiveness of SMS implementation, adoption of industry wide best practices and the health/well-being of crew on board. 

The course equips both crew on board and shore-based personnel with greater knowledge and understanding of how to prepare for an inspection. 

Course overview

The course focuses on specific areas of the RightShip Inspection questionnaire and touches on the commercial implication of Righship Inspections with respect to commercial contracts such as Charter Parties.  

Modules include:

  • Background and business drivers for vetting inspection
  • Vessel screening
  • Third-party vetting systems
  • Arrangement and preparation for on board inspection
  • Familiarity with RightShip Inspection Questionnaire
  • Observations, findings and the operators response
  • Introduction to DryBMS

The course is designed for members of the maritime community, specifically those in the industry who are actively involved with Dy Bulk Carriers. 
Duration

Online:

  • Three-day online course via zoom. Four hours and 45 minutes teaching time per day, including breaks. 
Certification
At the end of the course, candidates can expect to receive The Nautical Institute Academy's Certificate of Completion and 10 CPD points.
