Alternative Fuels: Onboard Operations

Delve into the operational aspects of next generation fuels with The Nautical Institute Academy.

The maritime industry is increasingly turning to alternative fuels to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and comply with stringent environmental regulations. This course builds on the Nautical Institute Academy’s alternative fuels training by focusing on the operational, risk, and technical considerations of working with alternative fuels, such as Ammonia and LNG onboard ships. This two-day programme explores the onboard implications of the transition towards these alternative fuels.

Designed for engineers, auditors, inspectors and deck officers who require a working understanding of fuel properties, system arrangements, and operational risks. Join The Nautical Institute Academy on a journey to better understand the operational aspects of alternative fuels.

This course is a counterpart to Alternative Fuels: Management, which focuses on strategic, regulatory, and organisational considerations associated with alternative fuels.
