MARITIME LEADERS FORUM: GLOBAL TRADE TENSIONS - THE NEW NORMAL?
Register here for the Maritime Leaders Forum on Monday 17 November 2025 at 1800 at Trinity House, Trinity Square, London EC3N4DH.
Projections of the OECD and International Trade Forum (2020 ) suggest global maritime freight transport demand will triple by 2050. We are actively developing strategies and initiatives to support this growth, including infrastructure, decarbonisation, autonomy, security, and key enablers such as skills and digital technologies.
Given the global trade tensions of the past year and disruptions to security of shipping, we are witnessing impacts on the international maritime industry and the global supply chain. As 2025 draws to an end we should pause and reflect on the impacts and longevity of disruption. Is this the new ‘normal’. Will the growth projections prove optimistic? The Maritime Leaders Forum will consider these issues, offering perspectives on both short- and longer-term impacts, and how and whether we will need to adjust our longer-term strategies to remain a successful and sustainable sector.
The event will not discuss at length the origins of the tensions. It seeks to focus on the outcomes, and mitigation for our industry and global trade.'
The Maritime Leaders Forum is an opportunity to share best practice with industry leaders, as we work to energise the UK Maritime Sector. We plan for a wide-ranging discussion, where the panel are invited to comment on propositions, best practice, and questions from the floor. At the conclusion of the formal session at 1945, we move into a networking reception, finishing at 2100. This has proved a valuable opportunity to continue the discussion, make contacts, and promote collaboration in the industry.
The event will be at Trinity House, doors open at 1730 for 1815 start There is no charge for attending. Please use the complementary tab at registration.
