On 24 November 2025 the Brazil Branch of The Nautical Institute is proud to host a one-day Maritime Skills Conference in Rio de Janeiro, bringing together employers, industry leaders, educators, and the next generation of maritime professionals to discuss the future of skills in Brazil’s maritime and offshore sectors.
With over 200 Nautical Institute members across Brazil, this conference offers an important space to exchange knowledge, support the next generation, and tackle critical challenges facing the offshore and maritime sectors.
Brazil plays a central role within the global offshore industry. This conference will explore how skills and training must evolve to meet tomorrow’s challenges.

The conference will conclude with a special performance by the Brazilian Piper Pipe Band, a social project proudly supported by The Nautical Institute Brazil Branch. Fresh from their acclaimed tour of Scotland as part of the UK/Brazil governments’ ‘Year of Culture,’ the band will provide a fitting and memorable finale to the day’s proceedings.
