Passenger, Mustering & Crowd Control

This course zooms in on all aspects of passenger mustering, in particular the flow of passengers on stairways and the care and control of passengers once they have assembled in their designated muster stations. It places particular focus on psychology, looking at how individuals respond to stress in different ways, and how crowds can descend into disorder in emergency situations.

Target audience: all crew members with a responsibility for passenger mustering, in particular, Stairway Guides and Muster Station Personnel.

  • STCW Section A V/2, paragraphs 1&2
