Occupational Health & Safety Management

The purpose of an occupational health and safety management system is to prevent short-term and long-term occupational accidents, injuries and diseases, caused by conditions in the workplace. This course introduces occupational health and safety management systems and the requirements of the ISO 45001 standard. It also explains how companies and seafarers can organise and implement a system onboard their ships.

Target Audience: Masters, officers and shore personnel responsible for organising and implementing an occupational health and safety management system onboard ship.

  • The occupational safety and health provisions of the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006
