Ex Awareness Training

This course deals with the protection of electrical equipment in hazardous areas onboard ship. It covers the categorization of hazardous atmospheres and protection methods that can be used to protect electrical equipment in those areas. The courses introduces explosion theory and explores the potential sources of ignition in hazardous areas, indicating how the risk of ignition can be mitigated using techniques such as hazardous area zoning and risk profiling onboard ship.

Target Audience: Officers and ratings responsible for maintaining electrical equipment in hazardous areas.
