Environmental Officer

As focus on the environment builds, it is more important than ever for seafarers to both comply with regulations and be aware of issues. The course helps with assisting the Master to ensure compliance with the company’s Environmental Policy and EMS, and also, it helps with driving continuous environmental improvement on board ships and encouraging broader environmental awareness amongst crew. 

The course details the requirements of the MARPOL Annexes I to VI, and addresses further legislation, including the VGP, before concluding by examining company environmental policy and how to put this into practice on a ship, and finally, examination of how to deal with environmental incidents. 

Target audience: training shipboard personnel who will be assigned to the position of Environmental Officer.
