ColRegs & IALA Buoyage

This course is in two parts and examines in great detail two essential topics for deck officers and crew.

The first part of the course addresses the 38 Collision Regulations; clarifying the meaning of the Rules by presenting them in an understandable language and illustrating them with graphics and sound. This is accompanied by full text of the four Annexes and brief guides to them.

The second part of the course examines the IALA Buoyage system. It is crucial for all watchkeeping officers to be able to recognise and know what each means. This course describes and illustrates each type of buoy, their top marks and lights. Dealing with the lateral buoyage system, it concludes with describing cardinal marks, isolated danger marks, safe water marks, special marks and the emergency wreck marking buoy.
