Marine Environmental Awareness
This course is aimed at environmental officers, and all those whose tasks include environmental compliance. It includes guidance in ensuring environmental policy complies with legislation, helps drive continuous environmental improvement and encourages a broader environmental awareness amongst crew. It shows how these aims can be achieved, and details the requirements of the MARPOL Annexes I to VI, further legislation, including the VGP, and concludes by reviewing the tasks of the environmental officer and examining how to deal with environmental incidents.
Target audience: officers in charge of a navigational or engineering watch. All seafarers interested in environmental issues within the maritime industry
