| The Nautical Institute provides a variety of accreditation services. The principal of these is where the Institute assesses training centres offering particular courses, verifying the standard and issuing these centres with certificates recognising the achievement of the standard. These training centres are assessed at regular intervals, have to maintain certain standards and keep records.
