| The Institute operates the certification scheme for DP Operators, which involves not only the approval of the training centres but also the verification of evidence and the issuing of certificates. This DP Scheme enjoys reciprocal recognition with that of the Norwegian Maritime Directorate. The route to certification is set out in the flowchart contained in The Nautical Institute Dynamic Positioning Operator's Certificate - version 1.06, January 2010 Please read the Guide to completing your DP Log Book. Many applications for DP certificates are unsuccessful because the logbooks are completed incorrectly.
