The LONDON BRANCH of The Nautical Institute is a voluntary organisation of professional mariners who are all members of The Nautical Institute and reside, work or have an interest in the greater London (UK) area.

The London Branch holds regular meetings, often in association with other professional organisations, to promote professional knowledge of technical subjects and create a professional and social networking forum. Members and non-members alike are welcome to public meetings.

Following concern that excessive speed may be a contributing to collisions, near misses, and groundings, an Anglo-French Formal Safety Assessment was conducted into reducing risk. The results of this study into the original TSS will be discussed.
