From ‘Lambeth North’ Tube Station (10 min.)
Leave station entrance and cross intersection to Hercules Road. Follow Hercules road south until it joins Lambeth Road. Take right and follow Lambeth Road under the rail bridge. On the other side of the bridge take a right into a driveway and under an arch and gatehouse labelled “The Marine Society”. For the Nautical Institute, follow the signs around the back to a door marked “The Nautical Institute” and ring bell.
From Waterloo International Rail Station (20 min.)
Leave Waterloo station via ‘Exit 1’ (located near platform 1) turn right and follow Station Approach road for about 100m. Cross Station Approach road (left) at the pedestrian subway following the signposts for Leake Street and the Lower Marsh. Turn right and follow Lower Marsh road through the street market to Westminster Bridge Road. Cross Westminster Bridge road at the pedestrian crossing and enter Carlisle Lane (between The Village Deli and the car park). Follow Carlisle Lane through tunnel under rail lines and enter Archbishop’s Park through the Northeast gate. Proceed through the park (closed after daylight) keeping the sports fields on your right. The Marine Society building is a converted school house on the Southeast corner of the park, enter the courtyard through the private gate and follow the signs around the building for The Nautical Institute.
